The Fountain of Youth: Cereal lover turns 100
Published Friday February 9, 2007 by Pat
Quick someone get me Ponce León’s phone number, I have discovered the fountain of youth. After writing the article on Lester Borchardt I became interested in other cereal lovers and how long they have lived. Lucky me, this morning I came across yet another article about a man who claims his good health and long life can be attributed to, of all things, Shredded Wheat.
Victor Wollard, of the United Kingdom, just turned 100 years old on Wednesday February 7th 2007. He has had two shredded wheat every morning for almost his entire life. When interviewed Victor explained, “I love my Shredded Wheat, I have two a day with half a pint of warm milk. It makes all the difference.” While he has lost some hearing his family members say he is still very lively, and until a few years ago frequently rode a bicycle. Victor celebrated his birthday two times that day, and we hope he celebrates many more.
I will be sure to let Russ know about this, as I just spoke with him a few minutes ago while he was scarfing down some mini-wheats. I don’t think he knows he is going to live forever.
