Review: Disney’s Princess Fairytale Flakes: These Colors Run

Dear Reader: What follows is CerealBlogger’s first attempt at a review. The format may change; we may add sprinkles and/or spangles here and there; but the spirit will always remain. Enjoy.

When Dining with Royalty…

They were all there with me in the kitchen: Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Belle. I asked the ladies where Princess Jasmine and Pocahontas were. Their noses wrinkled, they flashed their teeth, and kept quiet. Even amidst this silent hostility, it was exciting to open the box of Disney’s Princess Fairytale Flakes…the first reviewed cereal on CerealBlogger! The flakes were neon pink and glittered like strawberry-frosted gems! What joy to put them on my tongue and let them melt. Forget all the princesses, this cereal has taste crystals fit for a king (like Simba), or Queen (the band).

Wet and Wild with the Ladies

Into a tea cup they went and skim milk followed close behind. The first bite was delicious, but within a minute the milk had blushed and the flakes were naked. My hands were on my head and my mouth remained open and motionless. The milk was turning pink…and the cereal was getting, well, boring. Still I pushed on, determined to finish what I had poured myself.

The Final Flake

Near my last bite, the flakes were soggy and I started to feel a little queasy. While a cereal that has end milk along the lines of Strawberry Quik is always exciting, all in all Fairytale Flakes really let me down. Sorry America, I wouldn’t recommend getting this cereal: These Colors Run.

Dan: “They are beautiful on the outside, like a princess.”
Pat: “It’s completely gone! Is it supposed to do that?”
Russ: “It’s only good for looking at.”
