Docta Docta! Someone Put Chocolate In My Cereal!

Published Tuesday April 3, 2007 by Pat

life chocolateQuaker recently announced a new cereal called Life: Chocolate Oat Crunch. The Life cereal is pretty much the same, the kicker is that they added chunks of real chocolate. To advertise this tag team of flavor they launched a new website: Chocolate Comes to Life. It is pretty nice looking and all done in flash. You can even design a character to email to send to your friends so they can know what a corporate sell out you have become.

That information is nothing new to the cereal biz. Companies make launch websites and promotional getaways all the time. This one is a trip to New York. The thing that makes Life Chocolate different is a man by the name of Dr Lebel, the “chocolate expert”.

Are you hungry for more information about chocolate? Be sure to check back every two weeks for a new feature written by our Chocolate Expert, Dr. LeBel. In future weeks, he will be exploring fascinating topics including the pleasures of chocolate, chocolate and gift giving, the art of eating chocolate and many more!Dr Choco

Now I can see how having Robert Jarvik in your cholesterol commercials can be useful. I can even believe that George Foreman sells grills and mufflers. But having a doctor sell cereal just doesn’t seem right. So I researched the man and tracked down his homepage, and resume. It turns out that our “Doctor” has a Ph.D. in Business Administration(Marketing) from McGill University. Now I looked all over the page and see no Ph.D. from ChocU, not even a GED from Hershey High! So kids, don’t believe everything you see, especially when it comes to cereal. And when it comes to chocolate just rely on our old pal The Count.
