Chex This “Rubik’s Cube” Out

It’s Wednesday again, so hold on tightly to your dreams…it’s time for eBay roundup. When I was a kid I always wanted a Rubik’s Cube. When I finally got one, it was one of those boring ones with the brightly colored squares. It was challenging and everything, but something was missing. Every night for a week I had a recurring dream where I glued cereal to my new toy. Seller figalopticus (99.7% positive feedback) outlines my dream Cube:

This was a promotional offer from Chex brand cereal and has corn chex on one face and various fruits on the other faces (blueberries, strawberries, bananas, and peaches). The cube is functional and can be played. This is in good condition, but I would not describe it as mint.

The problem with the above description is the apparent lack of a sixth side. Well, I have good news, and I have bad news. The good news is: there is a sixth side. I have seen it! The bad news is: my dreams have not revealed to me the true nature of the mystical sixth side. Some would say I don’t have The Sixth Sense. (Yes…I just did that.)

The sixth side has raspberries. The Ralston promotion was 1984. I purchased one on eBay recently for about $20 (including shipping) and solved it carefully and slowly because the mechanism seems more brittle and fragile than a current cube.
