Cereal Skylines

Late last night, and early this morning, television’s The Food Network aired the latest competition from its series of competitive food building…competitions, known as The Food Network Challenge. On this very special episode, 3 Pastry Chefs and 1 Ice Carver were put to the task of each constructing a fabulous city skyline, out of cereal!
Intrepid CerealBlogger reader Mike happened to catch this programming breakthrough, here are his thoughts:
I watched the first 20 minutes.
Basically there were 4 teams who had to construct city skylines entirely out of cereal. The winner got $10,000. One guy was reconstructing [Las] Vegas, another dude was doing Baltimore’s waterfront (pretty much knocked himself right out of the running with that choice), one was Manhattan, and one was just the Lower East Side. These were massive skylines too, probably 100 boxes of cereal used per team. The twin towers were almost 6 ft tall. Drama ensued as the woman creating the LES tattled on the Baltimore guy because he used wooden dowels in his sky scrapers for support, which is in clear violation of the rules and the spirit of the competition.
For those of you who missed it, Cereal Skylines will be airing again on Wednesday, April 4th at 9pm EST on The Food Network.
Update: Hi-lite the text below to see who won:
It turns out that the Baltimore guy one, despite using non-approved wooden dowels. I call bullshit on that one.
