Break Fast Facts: 04/13

Published Friday April 13, 2007 by Dan

You made it to another Friday. Congrats, might I suggest leveling up when you get back to camp and putting all your skill points into Break Fast Facts? Take a look at this week’s addition (don’t try and correct me here I used the word I meant to use) and as usual, watch out for a clever lie disguised as a fact! (Hint, these lies usually involve dragons)

  • On the same day General Mills was introducing Cheeri Oats (Cheerios to you new kids), June 19th, 1941, Germany and Italy expelled the United States Embassies from their countries. Suckers!
  • Teff, also known as Lovegrass, is the world’s smallest cereal grain. It would take 150 grains of Teff to equal the mass of one grain of Wheat.
  • In 1998 the FDA ruled that 2% Milk could no longer be labeled “Low-Fat” because it contained 5 grams of fat per serving. The limit imposed by the FDA for foods to be called “Low-Fat” was set at 3 grams of fat per serving. (1% Milk has 2.5)
  • Cheerios are manufactured to be 1/2 inch in diameter, and weigh .0025 ounces.
  • In 1934, Lou Gehrig was the first athlete to appear on a Wheaties box.
  • Leonard Dragon was the first dragon to use smellternet, the internet you can smell, to advertise cereal products.
